Pilates Instructor

Jan was introduced to Pilates as a form of muscle strengthening and postural rehabilitation after repetitive injury from netball, squash, and other competitive sports. Not only did Pilates help alleviate Jan’s injuries and strengthen her overall body, but it also started her on a career path into the health and wellness industry.

Having now been a remedial massage therapist for 25 years, along with 20 years Pilates teaching experience, Jan has a strong focus on rehabilitation and injury recovery. During a class, if experiencing pain or injury, you can expect to work on gentle exercises that will help reduce pain, release tension, and increase your range of movement to get you moving again. Once the initial pain/injury period has subsided, Jan focuses on strength and endurance exercises, postural alignment, along with gaining a whole-body workout to help reduce the likelihood of injury recurrence.

Jan also delights in working with pregnant women and takes special joy in keeping mum’s-to-be healthy and strong, preparing them for the next phase of their lives.

Jan takes a caring and considerate approach ensuring each client is working to their full potential, finding fun and interesting, yet challenging exercises that will leave you feeling like you’re taking positive steps in improving your overall health and wellbeing.
